Like many, I was drawn to music from the start. My Mom tells me that at 1 yr old, I would jump around in my playpen when Queen came on the radio. Growing up, I tried my hand at many instruments like the flute, saxaphone, and piano. But none of these drew me in like the acoustic guitar.
At 25, my husband bought me a guitar and I started to teach myself. I was inspired by acoustic singer/songwriters like Dar Williams, Shawn Colvin, Indigo Girls and Suzanne Vega.
In the Spring of 2009, my sister convinced me to try a Phil Stahl Open Mic night at the Center Valley Tavern. None of my friends nor family had ever heard me play before and I was terrified. I really enjoyed the challenge though. So I returned a few times a month. I had the opportunity to meet many great local musicians and be inspired by the local talent. Everyone was so encouraging.
After a few months of open mic performances, my unexpected adventure started. In August 2009 Phil Stahl invited me to record for his radio show on 90.3WXLV. Then, I booked my first gig in October 2009 at the Center Valley Tavern. Since then, I have played at restaurant/bars/cafes, festivals, and a live radio show performance.
I am so grateful for my friends and family who have encouraged and supported me along the way. I am truly blessed. Thank you all!
